About the Role: Manager, AP Automation Sales Consultant

We're seeking an experienced Manager, Accounts Payable Automation Sales Consultant to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. As a key player in our sales organization, you'll be responsible for driving sales growth through innovative Accounts Payable (AP) automation software solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of the AP automation landscape, excellent sales acumen, and the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospecting:
    • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and internal partners to generate a strong pipeline of prospective clients
    • Leverage various contact methods, including cold calling and in-person meetings, to secure profitable sales through self-generated leads
    • Ensure all prospecting activities are conducted with integrity and in accordance with American Express values
  • Pipeline Management:
    • Effectively manage a pipeline of prospective AP Automation customers provided by American Express and self-prospect
    • Turn leads into prospects, follow up with contacts in CRM database, and probe for potential opportunities
  • Client Solution and Delivery:
    • Understand customer requirements and jointly develop solutions in accordance with customer requests
    • Maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise across all AP Automation software offerings
    • Coach and train Sales teams to effectively identify opportunities and schedule appointments
    • Coordinate internal resources to ensure smooth delivery of the solution and platform implementation
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure all aspects of the American Express Code of Conduct and Business Conduct policies are adhered to
    • Uphold the highest standards in interactions with customers and comply with regulatory requirements

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a direct client-facing role with commercial customers
  • Experience partnering with clients across various markets and industries
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry
  • The ability to understand complex technology and articulate it in simple, non-technical terms
  • Experience working with 3rd-party SAAS partnerships to assist with lead generation
  • A solid track record of working with sales process engineering and complex business processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of AP and ERP solutions and software
  • Deep understanding of the overall Procure to Pay processes
  • Proficient in discussing and selling the full AP Automation product suite
  • Ability to thrive in highly fluid environments with transforming technology and processes
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a track record of overcoming objections to drive growth

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $125,000 annually, plus sales incentives and benefits. The actual salary will be determined based on factors such as location, experience, and job-related factors.
