About the Role
As our ideal candidate, you'll be a seasoned IT professional with a proven track record of managing global IT operations, leading high-performing teams, and driving technology innovation. You'll serve as our lead technology resource, overseeing the implementation of strategic IT plans, managing IT infrastructure, and ensuring the security and integrity of our systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping our technology landscape, driving business growth, and enabling our organization to achieve its objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic IT Leadership: Develop and implement global IT strategies, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives, and driving meaningful change across our technology stack and teams.
- IT Operations Management: Oversee the management of our IT infrastructure, including security operations, web services, and IT vendor management, ensuring the delivery of high-quality IT services.
- Team Leadership: Lead a hybrid team of employees and consultants, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure the team's success and growth.
- Technical Expertise: Analyze complex business needs and recommend technical solutions, ensuring the consistency and maintainability of existing applications and the development of new technical solutions.
- IT Service Management: Direct IT operations in executing production tasks according to a documented schedule, ensuring that IT services meet or exceed expectations.
- Data Management and Disaster Recovery: Oversee data management and disaster recovery responsibilities, ensuring the resiliency and recovery of our IT infrastructure.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with systems requiring specific requirements, internal control requirements, and provide information for audit inquiries from external auditors.
- Budgeting and Cost Management: Partner with our VP of Business Operations to achieve budget objectives, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- Special Projects: Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and assist management in developing business plans for the company.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible professional information technology experience, including management experience mentoring and leading a team.
- Current hands-on experience in managing Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive, with a solid understanding of security measures and the ability to architect best practices and policy.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, SAN, VMware/Hyper-V, SharePoint, and RAID.
- Experience applying cybersecurity measures, such as multi-factor authentication, single sign-on (SSO), Microsoft Intune, Azure Active Directory, and other RMM and automation tools.
- Experience managing IT infrastructures and understanding of IaaS Cloud solutions, such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of DNS, networking (TCP/IP), and routing.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience in a life science service environment.
- Recent experience as a corporate IT leader.
- Foundational understanding of Wi-Fi networks and basic knowledge of PowerShell.
