Job Overview

As a Cloud Application Development Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based solutions using AWS, Python, and PySpark programming. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to drive the successful delivery of our cloud-based infrastructure and applications. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based solutions using AWS services, Python, and PySpark programming.
• Collaborate with team leads and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements and technical specifications into a robust solution.
• Work with other teams to migrate or re-engineer SAS or MS-SQL Server applications to AWS.
• Enhance and maintain existing .NET and MS-SQL Server applications.
• Stay up-to-date with contemporary approaches and be able to quickly enhance or advise changes when needed.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
• Mentor and guide junior team members and QA, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
• Define and document best practices and techniques concerning process improvement and maintenance.
• Work effectively on tight timelines, when required.
• Stay current with new AWS services, DevOps methodologies, and emerging trends in the industry.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with minimal supervision. Self-directed.

Qualifications and Requirements

Essential Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an Application Development Engineer or comparable position, with a focus on AWS, Python, or PySpark.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing AWS (or other cloud) based solutions and familiarity with cloud storage.
• Experience using APIs and Web services in integrating applications on the web.
• Experience as a .NET developer and familiarity with the framework. Knowledge of at least one .NET language (e.g., C#, VB.NET).
• Proficiency with databases, including writing optimized SQL queries, creating views, functions, and stored procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex systems to identify bottlenecks and optimize performance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare experience: A deep understanding of HIPAA and other regulatory compliances, such as PCI, PII, and PHI.
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
