Job Summary
We're seeking a talented and dedicated Evening Teachers/Floater to join our team of educators. As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in creating engaging learning experiences, supporting children's development, and ensuring a safe and caring environment for all. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and Carry Out Engaging Learning Activities: Develop and implement creative lesson plans based on established curriculum and developmental standards to promote children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
- Support Children's Developmental Milestones: Observe and guide children to help them meet their developmental milestones, providing personalized support and encouragement along the way.
- Assist with Schoolwork and Remote Learning: Provide support and guidance to children with their schoolwork or remote learning, helping them stay on track and achieve their academic goals.
- Ensure a Safe and Supportive Environment: Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children and families, promoting a sense of belonging and well-being.
- Supervise Activities and Communicate Effectively: Actively supervise activities, provide regular communication with children, parents, and fellow staff members, and maintain open lines of communication to ensure a smooth and effective learning experience.
- Maintain a Clean and Organized Classroom: Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and sanitized at all times, promoting a healthy and safe environment for children and staff.
- Adapt Lesson Plans and Activities: Be flexible and adapt lesson plans and activities as needed, especially when working with floaters, to meet the unique needs and interests of children.
Position Hours and Additional Roles for Floaters
Approximate work hours are 2:30/3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with duties including working with children during the shift and ensuring the classroom is clean, organized, and sanitized at the end of the day. As a floater, you'll be assigned to different classrooms based on daily needs and will follow the lesson plans created by other teachers. Flexibility is key, as floaters may need to improvise and adapt activities based on the children's needs on any given day.
Qualifications and Skills
We're looking for individuals who possess a strong passion for education, a commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment, and a willingness to learn and grow. While previous experience working with children in a teaching, caregiving, or instructional capacity is preferred, it's not required. We welcome applications from individuals who are eager to make a positive impact on young minds.
- Previous Experience Working with Children: While not required, previous experience working with children in a teaching, caregiving, or instructional capacity is a plus.
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Education Principles and Practices: Familiarity with early childhood education principles and practices is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Experience in Curriculum or Lesson Planning: Experience in curriculum or lesson planning is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Comfortable Interacting with Children, Parents, and Staff: You should be comfortable interacting with children, parents, and staff in a supportive, professional manner.
- Familiarity with Positive Discipline Techniques: Familiarity with positive discipline techniques and a flexible approach to meeting children's needs is essential.
- Ability to Manage Time Efficiently: You should be able to manage time efficiently and work with a flexible schedule.
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of Child Development and Early Learning Standards: Familiarity with child development and early learning standards is a plus.
- Strong Communication and Customer Service Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills are essential for effective collaboration with children, parents, and staff.
- Basic Computer Skills: Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping are a plus.
