Job Overview
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Special Education Teacher to join our team, providing tailored educational services to students with diverse learning needs. As a Remote Special Education Teacher, you'll play a critical role in creating personalized learning experiences that cater to the unique needs of each student, ensuring their academic growth and social development.
Key Responsibilities
- Customized Instruction: Develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student, ensuring their academic growth and social development.
- IEP Leadership: Take charge in IEP meetings, working collaboratively with parents, teachers, and other specialists to set and assess educational goals.
- Student Progress Monitoring: Utilize virtual tools to regularly assess student progress, adapting instructional strategies as necessary to optimize learning outcomes.
- Collaborative Engagement: Partner with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to create a unified, supportive, and inclusive educational environment.
- Parental Involvement: Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and offering strategies to support learning at home.
- Virtual Classroom Management: Create a structured and engaging virtual learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with best practices in special education, attending training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a closely related field.
- Certification: A valid Colorado teaching license with a Special Education endorsement.
- Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in special education, with a strong preference for those experienced in remote or virtual instruction.
- Skills: Proficient in using educational technology, strong communication and organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of special education practices.
