We're seeking a talented and versatile Mobile/Unity Game Designer/Developer to join our team and help bring our vision to life.

About the Role

As a Game Designer/Developer at Phienx, Inc, you'll play a crucial role in designing and developing EMA's game-like features and qualities, creating meaningful interactions that enhance user engagement and emotional well-being. You'll work closely with our product and AI teams to integrate gamified elements that align with predictive emotional insights and wellness goals, ensuring the app's look and feel aligns with our mission of mental wellness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gamification Design:
    • Conceptualize, design, and implement game features that motivate and engage users, such as leveling systems, rewards, and interactive challenges.
    • Design character/player-based interactions, leveling mechanics, and progression systems that enhance user attachment and encourage consistent engagement.
    • Collaborate with the product and AI teams to integrate gamified elements that align with predictive emotional insights and wellness goals.
  • UX/UI Design:
    • Expand and evolve existing wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for both new and existing features, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user journey.
    • Assist in conducting user research, surveys, and testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs for optimal usability and accessibility.
    • Work with our Chief Medical Officer to design user-friendly, visually engaging interfaces that align with mental wellness goals and foster a calming, supportive environment.
  • User Experience Optimization:
    • Map out detailed user flows and user journeys to optimize engagement and retention at every stage, enhancing the user experience.
    • Develop user onboarding processes (such as in-app tutorials) that introduce new users to the game and ensure ease of adoption.
    • Analyze engagement data and user feedback to refine game mechanics, elements, and UI/UX for maximum user satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with C-Suite and the product team to translate design app concepts into functional game features.
    • Provide clear documentation and guidance on design specifications, ensuring consistency in visual elements and gamification mechanics.
    • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align on project goals and timelines, contributing expertise in game and UX/UI design.
  • Usability & Accessibility:
    • Ensure designs meet accessibility standards and are optimized for users with diverse needs and abilities.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Game Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in UX/UI design and gamification, preferably within tech, gaming, or app development environments.
  • Skills:
    • A portfolio demonstrating experience in designing/creating engaging user experiences and interfaces.
    • Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) and development tools (e.g., InVision, Unity).
    • Familiarity with usability testing methods, data analysis, and user-centered design principles.
    • Experience designing for both mobile (iOS/Android).
    • Knowledge of mental wellness or wellness app design is a plus.
