The Role: Toddler Teacher & Parent Educator
As a Toddler Teacher & Parent Educator at Stars Therapy Services, you'll play a vital role in our early intervention program. You'll work one-on-one with children from birth to 3 years old, providing play therapy and parent education in a natural environment, either in-home or in the community. Our senior behavioral therapists work closely with each Parent/Guardian and child to increase the acquisition of skills in the 5 main areas of childhood development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one direct therapy to children from birth to 3 years old in a natural environment
- Work closely with senior behavioral therapists to develop and implement personalized therapy plans
- Deliver play therapy sessions that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Educate and support parents/guardians on strategies to enhance their child's development
- Collaborate with families and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and effective treatment plan
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in child development, behavioral therapy, or a related field
- Experience working with children with developmental delays, learning disabilities, and/or behavior disorders
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Child Development, Applied Behavioral Analysis, or a related field
- Valid driver's license, proof of current auto insurance, and clean driving record
- Ability to obtain DOJ background clearance
- TB and COVID Vaccinations (medical or religious exemptions accepted)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field
- CPR & First Aid Certification (Adult, child, & infant)
- RBT Certification
- Bilingual (Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin, ASL, Tagalog, Chinese, Hindi, Mixteco, or other languages)
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think creatively and adapt to changing environments
- Professionalism and empathy when working with children and families
- Knowledge of child development principles and behavioral therapy techniques
