About the Role: Coach and Operations Manager Trainee
As a Coach/Ops Mgr Trainee, you'll embark on a dynamic journey to develop your leadership skills, drive business growth, and enhance customer experiences. This role is designed to equip you with the knowledge, expertise, and hands-on experience needed to excel in retail management. You'll be part of a collaborative and diverse team, working together to achieve exceptional results and drive success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Develop High-Performing Teams: Teach, train, and mentor associates to achieve business objectives and foster a culture of excellence. Tour stores, provide feedback, and communicate effectively with all levels of associates to drive store operations and implement business initiatives.
- Deliver Exceptional Customer Service: Model and demonstrate the One Best Way (OBW) service model, manage customer service initiatives, and ensure customer needs are successfully resolved. Develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies and drive process improvements.
- Drive Financial Performance and Sales: Review and evaluate P&L statements, manage budgeting and forecasting, and control expenses to achieve sales and profit goals. Monitor merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and operational processes to mitigate shrink and optimize business performance.
- Supervise and Develop Hourly Associates: Hire, train, and mentor associates, assign duties, and provide recognition to promote diversity and inclusion awareness. Recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and drive company growth.
- Coordinate and Oversee Job-Related Activities: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, support plans and initiatives, and identify opportunities for improvement. Demonstrate adaptability and promote continuous learning to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure Compliance and Integrity: Implement company policies and procedures, utilize the Open Door Policy, and provide direction on applying company values and standards of ethics and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- 2 years of college; OR
- 1 year's retail experience and 1 year's supervisory experience; OR
- 2 years' general work experience and 1 year's supervisory experience.
Additionally, for facilities that sell firearms, you'll be required to successfully complete a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following preferred qualifications can give you a competitive edge:
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
