Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Overnight Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Consultant to join our growing team. As an EAP Consultant, you will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive referrals, conducting clinical telephonic assessments, and providing expert consultations to managers, employees, and their family members covered by our Employee Assistance Program. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping our clients navigate a wide range of workplace issues, from mental health and substance abuse to legislative and customer-specific challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and urgent clinical risk assessments, offering expert consultations, short-term issue resolution, and comprehensive referral services for all members seeking assistance.
- Provide management consultation services to various levels of management and human resources within our broad customer base, demonstrating proficiency in assessing workplace issues and devising suitable action plans.
- Stay updated on issues affecting customers from both legislative and customer-specific standpoints, displaying a comprehensive understanding of our organization's customer base.
- Engage in additional assigned duties to support internal and external customers in achieving the EAP department's goals.
Schedule and Work Environment
This overnight position requires working from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM EST on a rotating schedule, totaling 80 hours over a two-week pay period. Our hybrid work model offers the flexibility to balance your time between our remote office and home, providing an ideal environment for self-motivated and disciplined professionals. Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
- An independent license and CEAP certification (preferred).
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the mental health field, with a focus on assessing mental illness and substance abuse.
- Knowledge of confidentiality laws and their exceptions, as well as the concept of the dual client.
- Clinical skills to perform risk assessments and develop action plans that meet clients' needs.
- Understanding of chemical dependency, indicators of risk associated with withdrawal, and appropriate treatment modalities.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- EAP experience (2 years preferred).
- Call center experience.
- Understanding of the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) process and the ability to develop action plans to address immediate customer needs.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and remain calm in crisis situations.
- Strong customer service skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to problem-solve, exercise judgment, and make critical decisions.
