Job Summary

As a Pharmacist in Charge - Long Term Care - Full Time, you will play a vital role on the leadership team within the Omnicare Pharmacy and report directly to the General Manager. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure operational excellence, compliance, and outstanding customer service within the assigned pharmacy. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision for the dispensing pharmacy and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor industry, regulatory, and compliance developments and partner with Division Compliance Officer and pharmacy management to address them.
  • Communicate and educate staff on pharmacy-related issues such as regulatory changes, compliance, FDA drug recalls, and drug information.
  • Implement quality assurance programs for pharmacy services and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of patient care.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the procurement, storage, security, and disposition of drugs and devices.
  • Maintain records of all required pharmacist licensure and technician registrations for current staff.
  • Respond to the board regarding any warning notice issued by the Board.
  • Implement policies and procedures for maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of prescription information and patient healthcare information.
  • Ensure pharmacy is in compliance with all local, state, and federal accrediting rules and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy.
  • Serve as a primary source of information and respond to internal and external customer questions or clarification of information.

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be a licensed pharmacist in the state of Virginia, active and in good standing.
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of management experience in a Pharmacist in Charge or Pharmacy Manager role.
  • 1 year of pharmacist experience in a long-term care dispensing role.
  • Immunization certification or willingness to become immunization certified.

You will be able to lead and foster a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and service. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be working with a team of healthcare professionals and interacting with customers.
