Job Summary

As a Walgreens Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you will be at the forefront of patient care, interacting with customers and developing strong patient relationships. Key Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Utilize pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Provide exceptional customer experiences by engaging with customers, resolving issues, and answering inquiries.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers and model excellent customer service practices.
• Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy manager, personnel Pharmacist, and store supervisor, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug records.
• Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow, and report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to pharmacy errors and quality improvement programs.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle coins as required.
• Assist with stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of prescription drugs.
• May assist pharmacists in administering medical services, including collecting and labeling blood/urine samples.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our unique training program and/or state-required certification/registration.
• Attend training and complete PPLs requested by your manager, and acquire continuing education credits.

• Through completion of the Walgreens pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, experience qualifies for 8 university credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE).

Basic Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months of experience in a retail environment.
• Previous work experience with Walgreens.
• Desirable math skills to accurately fill prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Accurate computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory management.
• PTCB certification.
