About the Role: Transportation Fleet Planner I

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transportation Fleet Planner I to join our team on a full-time remote basis. As a key member of our Distribution, Operations, and Sales teams, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient transportation of our products to customers across the country. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately complete assigned weekly fleet routing within compliance and KPI thresholds, creating the highest efficiency transportation plans according to established deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete weekly preliminary and final routing of assigned branches by assigned deadlines according to established route compliance requirements.
  • Complete all requested route changes for assigned branches within established timelines according to established route compliance requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date on network needs, limitations, and intricacies to ensure seamless transportation operations.
  • Track progress against efficiency goals and make strategy adjustments to course correct as needed.
  • Support communication among necessary divisions to avoid service misses and ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  • Create reports, analysis, or graphs as requested to present results of analysis projects.
  • Analyze route metrics and make suggestions for improved efficiencies for assigned branches.
  • Regularly review route data for accuracy and DOT compliance.
  • Maintain and adhere to information provided on branch info sheets.
  • Maintain data entry reporting as requested, including data for sale exceptions reports.
  • Create and archive exports and files as requested by assigned deadlines.
  • Provide coverage for coworkers as needed.

  • Strong Computer Skills:
    • Able to easily learn to navigate new software programs.
    • Intuitive computer skills.
    • Basic Excel skills (beyond data entry): simple formulas, data manipulation, sorting/filtering.
    • Basic office software skills: Outlook (email and calendar functions), navigating network drives, Teams.
  • Self-Starter: Willing and able to seek out and use available resources to find answers and solve problems independently.
  • High Degree of Professionalism: Basic business acumen and professionalism in communication and interactions.
  • Advanced Oral and Written Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with internal customers and stakeholders.
  • Good Time Management Skills: Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in transportation planning, logistics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and route optimization software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
