As part of this vision, they are seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps and Release Manager to join their team on a remote basis.

About the Role

The Lead DevOps and Release Manager will play a critical role in driving the delivery of complex features within the Prescribing Platform, a software application serving financial clients from their Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) business unit. This role will be responsible for ensuring that critical requirements and features are delivered into production to support business prescribing and other financial processes, having a significant impact on end-users of these applications and the quality of service provided to internal clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and support Delivery Management across multiple products/applications and perform day-to-day activities to deliver timely and quality releases.
  • Drive the successful delivery and execution of cross-functional activities to achieve desired outcomes for a defined program and/or strategic initiative.
  • Measure, track, and communicate release achievements/milestones, deployment instructions, version control records, and other related risks in collaboration with Dev/QA Engineers, Product Managers, and Scrum Masters.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create release plans, taking into account dependencies, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Work with all project stakeholders to proactively identify and mitigate project risks with continuous re-examination and reprioritization of the risk log.
  • Develop integration, deployment, and release strategies in collaboration with DevOps engineers, and implement them across multiple applications/software.
  • Create and maintain release management processes, policies, and procedures to ensure smooth and efficient deliveries.
  • Develop regular reports on release status, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide insights to stakeholders.
  • Work with post-release reviews on building feedback and implementing lessons learned for future releases.
  • Think of innovative ways to utilize Application-Release Automation (ARA) tools, which help mature DevOps and implement Continuous Delivery (CD) quickly.
  • Able to communicate in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment with a customer-centric mindset.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Delivery Management of medium to high complexity products.
  • 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Specialist or comparable role, with a strong focus on automation and build and deployment pipelines.
  • 3+ years of experience working in Continuous Integration environments including: Jenkins, GIT, and CI/CD.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a Cloud Environment (Azure preferred but open to AWS and GCP).
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills to lead an ecosystem of cross-functional teams to deliver quality software in a timely manner to end-users.
  • Experience collaborating with developers, systems, and other stakeholders to drive DevOps practices and facilitate smooth software delivery.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including release plans and release communication to executive and technical audiences with the goal of smooth deliveries, getting feedback on communication, and alignment on project objectives and delivery strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following skills and experience are highly desirable:

  • Azure DevOps experience including managing Azure DevOps projects, designing pipelines, releases, build agents, and working with GIT repositories.
  • Experience with build automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible) and deployment tools (e.g., Octopus).
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
