About the Role: Advanced Med-Surg Clinical Nursing Faculty
We are seeking a part-time Advanced Med-Surg Clinical Nursing Faculty to join our esteemed team at the Fredericksburg, VA campus. As a key member of our faculty, you will have the opportunity to teach and mentor nursing students in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, collaborating with healthcare organizations in the tri-state area. This is an excellent chance to develop your nurse educator experience and contribute to the growth of the largest nursing school in the nation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
- Plan clinical experiences for and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to individuals or groups.
- Make self-available to staff at the agencies and evaluate student performance, providing documented feedback.
- Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with students' knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs.
- Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and the College.
- Participate in the implementation of the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and departmental and campus policies.
- Serve as a professional role model for other faculty, staff, and students, demonstrating exceptional customer service, collaboration, communication, and professionalism.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A master's (MSN) or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
- An unencumbered professional nursing license in Virginia or NLC Compact state.
- At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
- Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
- Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
- Exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Eagerness to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect, and care.
