Key Responsibilities
As a Lab Assistant I (ITP/ASL) Part-time, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting instructors with operating laboratory classes, organizing, and maintaining lab equipment, instructional materials, and resources.
- Preparing lab experiments and demonstrations under the supervision of the instructor or senior lab personnel.
- Maintaining lab equipment by cleaning, performing basic repairs, and contacting the supervisor for more complicated repairs.
- Providing clerical assistance for lab maintenance and attendance purposes.
- Assisting students with using lab software and equipment, as needed.
- Complying with all applicable health and safety regulations, policies, and established work practices.
Essential Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, you must have:
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
- 1 year of experience in an educational lab setting or related area preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Word processing, spreadsheet, and web page applications.
- Ability to work effectively with persons from diverse backgrounds.
- Organizational and time management skills to receive, organize, maintain, test, and setup lab equipment, materials, or hardware supplies.
- Familiarity with an academic lab setup, configuration, and testing of related equipment.
- Physical ability to lift 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of lab software and equipment.
- Certification or training in health and safety regulations.
