Penn State New Kensington is one of over 20 Penn State campuses located across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Our 70-acre campus in scenic, rural Westmoreland County offers a unique blend of academic excellence and natural beauty, situated just 30 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. With a student-centered approach, we provide a world-class education in a small-campus setting, offering coursework for the first two years of over 160 Penn State baccalaureate majors, as well as 10 baccalaureate degrees and 5 associate degrees.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor in Radiological Sciences to teach courses in the Radiological Sciences associate's degree curriculum, coordinate and provide instructional support for clinical education components, and advise students. The successful candidate will be expected to remain current in the field through professional development activities and participate in campus, university, and community service activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach courses in the Radiological Sciences associate's degree curriculum, including traditional, hybrid, and online delivery methods
- Coordinate and provide instructional support for clinical education components of the program
- Advise students to provide academic and career guidance
- Remain current in the field through appropriate professional development activities and participation in professional associations
- Participate in campus, university, and community service activities
- Support, coordinate, or lead effective program operations, recruitment and retention activities, curriculum development and assessment, and ongoing program accreditation processes
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Minimum of M.S. degree in Biology, Health Science, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution required for appointment at the level of Lecturer
- Ph.D. or related terminal degree required for appointment at the level of Assistant Teaching Professor
- Minimum of three years' full-time experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- One year's experience in clinical or classroom instruction in a JRCERT-accredited program in Radiologic Technology
- R.T. (R), ARRT certifications
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment
- Experience with program accreditation processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
