Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Primary Care West Springfield team. As a Medical Assistant, you will work closely with our physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants to ensure the highest level of care for our patients. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clinical support to our healthcare team, including preparing patients for procedures, taking vital signs, and performing phlebotomy.
- Assist with patient flow, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients.
- Perform simple laboratory procedures, prepare specimens for transport to labs, and maintain accurate records.
- Develop strong interpersonal communication skills, providing excellent customer service and telephone etiquette.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Utilize computer programs for data entry and retrieval, and demonstrate proficiency in using a multi-line telephone system.
- Stay up-to-date with medical terminology and procedures, ensuring a high level of clinical knowledge.
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an Assistant (MA) educational program preferred but not required.
- Certification in basic life support through the American Heart Association and knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard required.
- Minimum 6 months of healthcare experience.
- Phlebotomy skills preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMAs), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMAs), or Medical Assistants certified through the American Medical Technologies (AMT) are strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal communication ability, customer service skills, and telephone etiquette.
- Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment, organize multiple tasks, and prioritize responsibilities.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and present professionally with a pleasant personality.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong clinical and interpersonal skills.
