Job Summary
As a Nursing Education and Simulation Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting nursing students in their academic journey. You will provide instruction, remediation, and evaluation in didactic and clinical learning concepts, including patient-care simulations. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who are passionate about education and want to gain higher education and academic experience, with the possibility of transitioning into a faculty role in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized academic support to nursing students, including instruction, remediation, and evaluation in didactic and clinical learning concepts.
- Develop and implement remediation plans to support students in achieving their academic goals.
- Collaborate with faculty and academic partners to ensure seamless integration of simulation experiences into the curriculum.
- Operate and maintain computerized simulation equipment, including developing and implementing clinically-based scenarios.
- Coordinate and supervise students in lab experiences, ensuring that course objectives are met and providing individual oversight as needed.
- Participate in planning and scheduling for students and faculty, ensuring open lab and structured lab utilization times are available and communicated.
- Contribute to and attend national academic and clinical learning conferences.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Unencumbered RN license.
- BLS CPR required; BLS CPR instructor certification, ACLS, and/or PALS preferred.
- One (1) year of experience in an academic environment providing classroom instruction or specialized tutoring support.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate via telephone, computer, and in person.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with simulation education and computerized simulation equipment.
- Familiarity with nursing education and curriculum development.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
