Job Summary

As a Temporary Teacher for Fifth Grade Students, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities that cater to the diverse needs of our students. You will work collaboratively with our team to create a positive educational climate that promotes student learning, achievement, and social growth. Your primary goal will be to ensure that every student meets course and school-wide student performance goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that align with state and national standards
  • Create a positive educational climate that fosters student engagement, motivation, and achievement
  • Meet course and school-wide student performance goals
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay updated on best practices and educational trends
  • Create lesson plans and modify them as needed throughout the year
  • Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as required
  • Stay current with topics in education and utilize various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance student learning
  • Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
  • Prepare and distribute parent communications
  • Observe and evaluate student performance
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom, creating effective behavior strategies

Requirements and Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 18 years old
  • Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required

Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:

  • Criminal background check required for hire
  • Valid Colorado Educator License within 30 days of hire
  • Required license and endorsement
  • Highly qualified by content test or semester hours, with no endorsement: applicant must possess a Colorado educator license with a passing score on a CDE-approved content test or 24 semester hours in specific core content classes
  • Preference given to candidates with ELL Training and/or an ESL or (LDE) Linguistically Diverse Education Endorsement
