As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and executing ETL/ELT data pipelines, developing database schema, and building batch processes using Apache Airflow. About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to collaborate with our Studios and Enterprise Technology colleagues on various activities, including data requirements gathering, data validation planning and review, developing and monitoring ETL/ELT data pipelines, designing and implementing database structures, and deploying across multiple environments. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and executing ETL/ELT data pipelines using technologies like Apache Airflow, Python, and SQL
- Developing and maintaining database schema, tables, and views
- Building batch processes using Apache Airflow
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and validate data
- Deploying data pipelines and database structures across multiple environments (DEV, QA/UAT, PROD)
- Monitoring and optimizing data pipelines for performance and cost
- Participating in driving best practices around data engineering software development processes
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- At least 2 years of experience with Python programming language
- At least 2 years of experience with SQL and database development
- At least 2 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines
- At least 2 years of experience with cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS and S3
- Experience with Apache Airflow, Databricks, and other big data technologies
- At least 2 years of experience designing and building relational databases
- At least 2 years of experience using Gitlab/Github for version control
- Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based
- Experience with SQL query optimization based on runtime and cost
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, having the following qualifications can give you a competitive edge:
- Experience with Snowflake, Apache Airflow, Gitlab, and Scene
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in the streaming, media, or digital marketing industry
