As a Director of Data Analytics, you will be responsible for coordinating a predefined area of work within Examination to achieve business objectives and designated financial and quality outcomes. Your decisions will have a significant impact on our short-term and long-term results, clients, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement conventional structures and methods for addressing major key issues, utilizing existing resources and creating new innovative ideas across the organization.
  • Serve as a point of convergence for cross-functional teams and stakeholders in developing and executing strategies, ensuring process and underlying fit with key stakeholders.
  • Guide key stakeholders on subject matters, partnering cross-functionally to interpret and define business needs for the area of responsibility.
  • Develop short- and long-range strategies, plans, and significant objectives, administering the execution of policies, processes, and strategies that have a significant impact on the organization.
  • Make recommendations for the formulation of strategies and working plans for the predetermined area of responsibility, executing or modifying the working plans as needed.
  • Communicate complex data connected with subject matters to senior management, direct reports, and peers in administration/clients/vendors.
  • Build and enhance key internal and external contacts, working with outside vendors and third parties to develop and maintain positive relationships.
  • Set financial, operational, and quality goals, developing and managing working plans for the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure the development and improvement of customer awareness, market share, and strategic initiatives, reviewing the competitive marketplace and making recommendations for changes to operational and strategic activities.
  • May develop a budget for the determined area of responsibility and deliver against business objectives/targets.
  • Analyze performance drivers, proactively determining significant strategy, and contributing to identifying solutions for mitigation and/or improvement to achieve overall business objectives.
  • Coordinate teams responsible for day-to-day activities, supervising and coordinating the work of managers, senior directors, and their subordinates.
  • Ensure the ongoing training and development of direct reports, creating and tutoring staff through on-boarding, open communication, training, and development opportunities.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience establishing and maintaining key relationships with internal (peers, colleagues, and leadership) and external (business community, clients, and vendors) stakeholders within a corporate association.
  • Experience creating strategic initiatives that align with business objectives and budget.
  • Experience identifying operational issues and prescribing and implementing strategies to resolve issues.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience communicating at the executive level.
  • Experience managing client-facing programs.
  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
  • At least 2 years of direct management, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time for business purposes (in-state and out-of-state).

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following preferred qualifications will be considered a plus:

  • Graduate degree/MBA.
  • Experience with advanced coding languages (e.g., SAS, SQL, C, etc.).
  • Experience with system administration (e.g., Masters, Vendavo, Vistaar, Salesforce.com, SharePoint, Wikis, etc.).
  • Experience using business intelligence tools in support of data analysis (e.g., Business Objects, Cognos, Scene, Masters, etc.).
  • Certified as a SalesForce administrator or engineer.
  • Experience in training, coaching, and developing less senior colleagues.
  • Experience designing and executing financial models in support of complex business initiatives.
  • Experience communicating with executive-level leadership both internally and to client associations.
  • Experience with project management (e.g., planning, organizing, and managing resources to achieve the successful completion of specific project objectives and targets).
  • Experience with systems such as Cure and GIS is preferred.
  • Experience with data extraction, data mining, data acquisition, data profiling, data warehouse administration, and statistical concepts.
