Key Responsibilities: Driving Success through Behavioral Expertise

  • Conduct positive behavior support presentations, training, and professional development within the district to enhance staff capabilities.
  • Stay abreast of the latest behavioral research and disseminate findings to staff to ensure the adoption of evidence-based practices.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to deepen your understanding and skills in positive student behavior support.
  • Assist staff in defining, measuring, and addressing target behaviors, and in developing functional behavior assessments and positive behavior support plans.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and fidelity checks to school teams and staff to ensure the effective implementation of student plans.
  • Collaborate with school psychologists to support evaluations and student programming, ensuring a comprehensive approach to student support.
  • Facilitate school-based team meetings to design and implement positive behavior support plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Support the alignment of programming between agencies and school teams to ensure seamless execution of students' individualized education plans.
  • Utilize a range of teaching methodologies, including discrete trial training, natural environment teaching, and social skills instruction, to support student development.
  • Maintain accurate records of supports provided and evaluate student/program progress on a designated basis.

Essential Qualifications: The Foundation for Success

To excel in this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as elementary or secondary education, applied behavior analysis, special education, psychology, or social work.
  • A valid ND Teaching certificate with a special education endorsement (or the ability to obtain).
  • A strong background in positive behavioral supports and MTSS systems, with a proven track record of supporting students with complex behaviors.
  • Effective communication skills, both expressive and receptive, to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • The physical ability to squat, walk briskly, stand, kneel, and lift a minimum of 20 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications: Enhancing Your Application

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification or being in the process of obtaining it.
