The Data Scientist - Quantitative Analysis and Insights role is a full-time position that requires 8 hours of work per day. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct data analysis to inform business or product decisions, including cost-benefit analysis, investment analysis, and forecasting
- Develop and automate reports, iteratively build and model dashboards to provide insights at scale, and solve complex analytical problems
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand their business needs, design and execute analysis that incorporates data collection, analysis, and presentation
- Communicate complex analytical results and recommendations to various stakeholders, including senior leaders and product managers
- Assist Google in making data-driven decisions to improve products and services
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- Currently pursuing a graduate degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Measurements, Software engineering, Designing, Math, Information Sciences, etc.)
- Experience working with statistical packages (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, MATLAB, etc.)
- Experience articulating product questions, pulling data from datasets (SQL), and using insights to arrive at a response
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently attending a part-time program in the US and available to work full-time for at least 6 months beyond college term time
- In their penultimate academic year or returning to a part-time program after completion of an internship
- Ability to translate analytical results into business recommendations
- Interest and ability to work with data, metrics, analysis, and trends, and applied knowledge of measurement, statistics, and program evaluation
- Excellent problem-solving and written/verbal communication skills, with strong business judgment
