Key Responsibilities

  • Processing Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and Document Delivery Requests: Manage incoming and outgoing ILL loan and article requests, as well as Document Delivery chapter requests, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Resource Sharing and Material Handling: Shelve, retrieve, and transport books and other print materials; package and ship outgoing library materials; and process and check in incoming materials.
  • Digitization and Electronic Resource Management: Digitize chapter and article resource-sharing requests; fulfill e-journal lending requests; and upload articles through ILLiad software.
  • Patron Account Management: Upload requested materials to patron accounts, ensuring that students and faculty have access to the resources they need.
  • Copyright and License Agreement Interpretation: Learn and interpret copyright and license agreements for electronic collections, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Additional Projects: Assist with special projects and initiatives within the ILS unit, contributing to the ongoing improvement of resource sharing and document delivery services.

Essential Qualifications

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills: Provide courteous and effective support to students, faculty, and staff, responding to queries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Organizational and Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational abilities, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities; communicate effectively with colleagues and patrons.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Identify and resolve problems, using analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Possess basic computer skills, including proficiency in software applications and online systems.
  • Physical Ability: Lift up to 20 pounds and navigate the library environment with ease.
  • Independence and Flexibility: Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Library Experience: Previous experience working in a library or similar environment, with knowledge of library operations and procedures.
  • ILLiad Software Experience: Familiarity with ILLiad software and other resource sharing systems.
  • Copyright and Licensing Knowledge: Understanding of copyright and licensing agreements, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant regulations.
