We're seeking a highly skilled Decision Scientist - Trend Strategy and Management to join our team and help drive our efforts to improve healthcare outcomes and reduce costs.
About the Role
The Decision Scientist - Trend Strategy and Management will play a critical role in our PBM Analytics team, focusing on optimizing our ability to engage with our 100M+ Caremark members to help them make better healthcare decisions. This role will be responsible for managing the aggregate financial impact of PBM products, initiatives, and contracts on pharmacy cost trend, providing timely and accurate data analysis to support utilization and unit cost management, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the evaluation and implementation of enterprise initiatives to respond to pharmacy cost pressures and mitigate unfavorable drivers of business performance.
- Conduct regular trend analyses and develop materials for department reporting and meetings.
- Deliver performance evaluation and business-impacting recommendations for cost savings analytics.
- Assist in identifying critical pharmacy cost issues and design and recommend solutions to business problems to staff, senior Executive leadership, and key business partners.
- Work cross-functionally across a diverse stakeholder group, including Product, Clinical, Finance, Trade, Medical Economics, Data Science, and Actuarial.
Essential Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in Healthcare Analytics, Medical/Pharmacy Cost Analytics, Data Science, or Actuarial Science.
- 1+ year of experience working in a role with competing priorities and working cross-functionally.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical ability and familiarity with advanced financial and healthcare concepts.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and clear communication skills from a cross-functional perspective.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn advanced analytics tools and techniques, such as machine learning, statistical analyses, and predictive modeling.
- Foundational knowledge of PBM business functions, including underwriting, sales, product development, network management, and trade.
- Ability to anticipate and prevent problems and roadblocks before they occur.

Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $72,100 - $173,040. In addition, you'll be eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program. Our benefits package includes:
