About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to drive this transformation, automating network operations and developing the infrastructure to support it. As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of Disney's network and delivering cutting-edge experiences to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement code to create modules, utilities, and automated workflows to enhance the efficiency of network operations.
• Utilize your backend development skills to contribute to the development of our network automation platform.
• Create automated data pipelines to aggregate data from diverse sources, performing unit tests and developing documentation to ensure the automation platform delivers high-quality results.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive data workflow, including data collection, aggregation, automated validation, processing, and storage.
• Design and implement a strategy to store and maintain the integrity of network policies as code.
• Collaborate with Network Architects and other Software Engineers to develop and execute a data model, driving network automation.
• Develop tools to facilitate the transformation of data schemas from disparate sources to the defined data model.
• Serve as a Level 4 escalation point for network automation, providing expert support and guidance.
• Create and deliver reports to senior leadership, highlighting key achievements and upcoming milestones for network automation.
• Design and implement the foundation for AI and Machine Learning advancements in network operations.

Essential Qualifications

• Experience handling structured and unstructured data on social and non-social datasets.
• Experience with automation and orchestration tools like Ansible.
• Experience using, designing, and implementing APIs.
• Experience with DevOps tools, including source code control (GIT), CI/CD, databases, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience developing high-availability, highly scalable, highly reusable, and highly secure software applications and services.
• Proven ability to analyze complex conditions and utilize analytical skills, frameworks, and tools, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, and Splunk.
• Cloud applications expertise in a multi-cloud environment: AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Insight into various aspects of network operations, including modernizing cloud networks, WAN, security, general automation, and tooling, monitoring, or process control.
• Experience collaborating with vendors to understand their approach to new designs, design rules, and frameworks.
