About Our EHR Services Practice

Our EHR Services practice is one of the fastest-growing areas within Optum Insight's Advisory and Implementations business unit. With a team of over 600 individuals across the U.S. and Ireland, we are dedicated to improving the healthcare delivery system through the power of healthcare technology, specifically Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and integrated applications. Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Epic Healthy Planet Analyst to join our team. As an Epic Healthy Planet Analyst, you will lead Epic implementation for Healthy Planet, provide Epic product function, design, build, and testing expertise, and collaborate with end-users to design and build the Epic system. You will enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. and take on challenging projects that will utilize your skills and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Epic implementation for Healthy Planet and familiarize yourself with running workgroups and Orion
  • Provide Epic product function, design, build, and testing expertise and experience for assigned Epic modules related to Epic Healthy Planet applications
  • Collaborate with end-users to design and build the Epic system in a timely and professional manner and make corrective configuration or enhancements
  • Lead small to medium complexity Epic software upgrade initiatives or enhancements to workflows, including the design, build, and test phases
  • Participate in design and validation sessions and ensure appropriate documentation, follow-up, and issue escalation occurs
  • Provide technical and/or clinical consultation, including application configuration
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate system needs to develop recommendations for customers
  • Develop, support, and maintain all required system design and build documents and other system documentation
  • Perform daily monitoring of applications in production use
  • Actively participate in all phases of the testing lifecycle and perform unit, system, and integrated testing tasks and activities for Epic Healthy Planet workflow
  • Provide support for application incidents reported through the help desk, including 24/7 on-call coverage as required
  • Obtain and maintain in-depth knowledge of software functionality; acquire and utilize knowledge of operational workflows to be implemented
  • Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software
  • Work with trainers to develop and maintain application-specific training curriculum and materials
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and manage changes to specifications, prioritize, coordinate, and implement updates and requested changes to the system; review and test each new release; troubleshoot problems and questions from end-users
  • Adhere to organization standards for system configuration and change control
  • Develop solid relationships with end-user communities, customers, and business partners
  • Facilitate communication with stakeholders from initial requirements to final implementation
  • Troubleshoot and/or resolve application issues and escalate more complex issues as appropriate

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Completed Epic CEE (Continued Epic Education) to maintain certifications, proficiencies, and badges
  • Active/current Epic certification in Epic Healthy Planet, or another primary clinical application
  • 4 years of Epic application experience
  • Epic systems application knowledge to build, test, support, and training for Ambulatory workflow
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Ability to travel at least 25% to client locations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Any combination of certifications and/or experience with Epic Ambulatory, MyChart, Healthy Planet, EpicCare Link, and Care Everywhere
  • 2 years of experience in team management (informal or formal), cross-team communication, and leadership skills

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • A salary range of $88,000 to $173,200 annually, depending on experience and location
