Job Summary
The Field Service Technician will provide support to our customers and deliver on all the services and offerings that Entrust contracts with our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality preventative and emergency maintenance services on Entrust equipment, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and interacting with customer operations staff in a professional and courteous manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality preventative and emergency maintenance services on Entrust equipment, including electromechanical systems, thermal image application and laminating, magstripe and chip data writing, and ultraviolet curing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on systems, including mechanical embossers, thermal image application and laminating, magstripe and chip data writing, and ultraviolet curing.
- Conduct day-to-day repairs, including cleaning rollers, sensors, cavities, and other components as required.
- Calibrate sensors, data read/write devices, application pressure, and other equipment as necessary.
- Evaluate and replace parts for wear and misalignment, including servo and stepper motors, spindles, clutches, belts, bearings, and other components.
- Utilize repair and service manuals to troubleshoot card printer systems.
- Utilize test equipment, such as voltmeters and laptops, and hand tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, and wrenches.
- Maintain accurate and proper trunk inventory levels.
- Follow established processes for service activity reporting and call management.
- Accept, organize, and respond to service calls utilizing a dispatch system.
- Drive to customer sites daily to provide service and maintenance.
Customer Interaction
- Interact with customer operations staff in a professional and courteous manner.
- Be consistently reliable and timely in all aspects of the position, and display a positive attitude.
- Demonstrate customer relation skills that allow for independent resolution of most situations without management assistance.
- Work to continually improve customer relations.
- Adjust to customer culture in communication, dress code, and compliance with their behavioral standards, while maintaining and modeling Entrust values.
Learning and Development
- Participate in company-sponsored personal development and quality initiatives.
- Complete all company training and development courses required by Entrust.
- Develop competency in required applications to confidently use diverse software and systems required by the operation.
- Assist less experienced personnel that require assistance with difficult repair problems.
- Be committed to continuously improving by sharing ideas, problem resolution successes, and suggestions on process improvement.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of electromechanical technician experience.
- Proficient problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient with PCs, current operating systems, and relevant software applications.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours/shifts, assignments, and travel when required, including temporary off-site short-term assignments in other locations.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Overtime is required as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Electronics or equivalent verifiable training.
- Additional electromechanical technician or field service experience.
- Entrust central issuance experience.
- Advanced technical education.
- Proficient in electro-mechanics, digital electronics, and software required to maintain Entrust and 3rd party products.
- Skilled with tools and electronic test equipment.
