Our Primary Care Coding Team is a collaborative and engaged group of professionals who work closely together to ensure accurate and efficient coding practices. About the Role: We're seeking a highly skilled and certified medical coder to join our team, with a focus on primary care, geriatrics, internal medicine, and endocrinology. As a Remote Primary Care Medical Coder, you will be responsible for evaluating medical records, providing clinical and surgical abstraction, and assigning accurate clinical diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with nationally recognized coding guidelines. Key Responsibilities: • Evaluate medical records and assign accurate clinical diagnosis and procedure codes • Provide clinical and surgical abstraction and consult with medical providers to clarify missing or inadequate record information • Meet department-specific productivity and quality standards, with a minimum of 65 encounters per day • Collaborate with the coding team to ensure accurate and efficient coding practices • Stay up-to-date with changing coding guidelines and regulations, including ICD-10 and CPT Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent, with specialized formal training in medical record keeping principles and practices • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification, in active status with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) • At least six months of experience providing professional coding services or other related healthcare experience • Strong knowledge of ICD and CPT coding principles, as recommended by the American Health Information Management Association coding competencies • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a remote setting, utilizing common office programs, coding software, and abstracting systems What We Offer: • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package • Opportunities for growth and development in a dynamic and supportive environment • Collaborative and engaged team of professionals • Flexible scheduling and remote work options • Access to cutting-edge systems and technology How to Apply: If you're a motivated and detail-oriented medical coder looking for a new challenge, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
