Key Responsibilities
- Business Certifications: Collaborate with our Green Business Program Coordinator to review applications, conduct site visits, and provide resources to help businesses achieve certification.
- Checklist Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of checklist criteria used for certifying businesses, ensuring they align with industry best practices.
- Sector-Specific Research: Conduct research on industry-specific sustainability practices and regulations to enhance our certification criteria and stay up-to-date with the latest trends.
- Outreach and Engagement: Help coordinate outreach efforts to engage businesses, encourage participation in our program, and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Marketing Content Creation: Assist in developing marketing materials and social media content to promote the Green Business Program and its benefits.
- Bilingual Support (if applicable): Utilize your Spanish language skills to communicate with Spanish-speaking businesses and stakeholders, ensuring inclusivity and expanding our program's reach.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, sustainability, business, or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in the principles of sustainability and business practices.
- 6+ months of professional work experience, including internships, research positions, or other relevant experience that showcases your skills and expertise.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content and engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain a high level of productivity in a remote work environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication with our team.
- Access to remote technology and a reliable internet connection, enabling you to work efficiently and effectively from anywhere.
- A valid driver's license for occasional local travel, allowing you to participate in site visits and other in-person activities as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following skills and experiences will give you a competitive edge:
- Fluency in Spanish, enabling you to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking businesses and stakeholders.
- Canva experience or background in graphic design, allowing you to create visually appealing marketing materials and social media content.
- Familiarity with social media for marketing efforts, helping you develop and implement effective online campaigns.
- Background or interest in environmental work, demonstrating your passion for sustainability and commitment to our mission.
- Experience working with BIPOC and/or marginalized communities, showcasing your ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with our team, businesses, and other stakeholders.
