About the Role

As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students, from kindergarten to high school, and make a positive impact on their educational journey. This is a flexible, remote position that allows you to choose your own schedule and work at your own pace. We offer competitive pay rates, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments, as well as a range of benefits and support to help you succeed in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and social studies, to students of different ages and skill levels
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of your students
• Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure a smooth and successful learning experience
• Be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to think on your feet and adjust to changing circumstances
• Collaborate with other teachers and educators to share best practices and improve student outcomes

Essential Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
• Three professional references, with at least one from a previous direct supervisor
• NJ Substitute Credential
• Background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this)
• Full COVID-19 vaccination
• A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with students of different ages and skill levels
• Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching, classroom management, and other educational best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
