Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach geography courses at our Mid-City Campus, online, or at our dual enrollment high school campus. As an Adjunct Faculty - Geography, you will be responsible for teaching courses as assigned, supporting the institution's mission and vision, and maintaining currency in your teaching discipline. This is a part-time position with a competitive salary of $2,500 per three-credit course taught.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach geography courses as assigned, including day, night, and weekend classes
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations
  • Support the institution's mission and vision, and abide by the Faculty Handbook and college-wide policies
  • Maintain currency in your teaching discipline through ongoing professional development
  • Report directly to the academic program manager and/or department chair within your respective department and division
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide meetings as required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in geography or a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in geography
  • Geography-based anthropology courses are accepted

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience in a community college or similar educational setting
  • Experience with online or dual enrollment courses
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
