Key Responsibilities

• Engage students and provide systematic and consistent learning support services in a positive and efficient manner.
• Assist students with lecture or lab material in chemistry courses, study methods, and technology needed to complete course-related material.
• Greet students and visitors, and provide guidance and assistance with general questions about the college and its services.
• Tutoring will take place primarily in-person at either the main campus or Akron location, with some online tutoring available based on hourly needs.
• Collaborate with faculty to ensure seamless support services for students.
• Utilize technology, including Microsoft Office Applications, to enhance tutoring services.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you'll need:

• A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related field with courses in general chemistry and organic chemistry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfort with technology usage, including Microsoft Office Applications.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in tutoring or teaching, and familiarity with online learning platforms.
