About the Role:

As a Para/Success Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and supporting high school students who require guidance and intervention to achieve on-time graduation. This position demands a unique blend of organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as you will work closely with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to develop and implement student success plans. Your ability to empathize with students, understand their challenges, and provide tailored support will make a significant difference in their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate processes to identify and assess students who may need additional support to achieve on-time graduation.
  • Assist the counseling department in tracking and monitoring student progress toward graduation.
  • Develop and coordinate intervention plans with teachers and parents to ensure students receive the necessary support.
  • Track and contact seniors who are at risk of not graduating on time and facilitate their enrollment in summer programs or classes for the following school year.
  • Identify underclassmen who are struggling academically and provide them with resources for credit retrieval or summer school programs.
  • Serve as a liaison between students, administrators, counselors, teachers, and parents to create and monitor student graduation plans.
  • Utilize various communication methods to perform job duties effectively.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Unofficial transcripts proving a bachelor's degree must be attached to the application, and official transcripts of all education levels are required within 30 days of hire.
  • Spanish bilingual skills are required, and candidates must pass the STAMP assessment.
  • Two years of related experience working in a school or community-based setting.
  • Academic skills to assist students in areas such as sciences, language arts, math, reading, and social studies.
  • Proficiency in basic computer programs, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerSchool.
  • Ability to develop and use spreadsheets to track student data.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills.
  • Knowledge of strategies that enhance student learning.
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs.
  • Leadership abilities and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work independently.
