Key Responsibilities: Shaping the Next Generation of Nursing Professionals

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in Microbiology (BIO 205) to students in a classroom setting, adhering to established curriculum and syllabus guidelines.
  • Create an engaging and inclusive educational climate that promotes student learning and achievement.
  • Establish clear objectives for all learning activities and assess student performance through various evaluation methods.
  • Manage student behavior and provide ongoing advisement and academic counseling to support student success.
  • Identify and refer students who are at risk of not succeeding to the Student Success Coordinator.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, including conferences, seminars, and training sessions.
  • Contribute to academic committees and provide input on program development and enrichment.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed, including grading, record-keeping, and other tasks.

Essential Qualifications: Expertise and Passion for Teaching

To be successful in this role, you must possess a Master's degree or higher in a related field from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Additionally, you should have:

  • A minimum of 15 credit hours or equivalent in the assigned subject area (Microbiology).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, faculty, and staff.
  • A strong commitment to student success and a passion for teaching and mentoring.

Preferred Qualifications: Enhancing Your Application

While not required, the following qualifications can enhance your application:

  • A minimum of three years of work experience as an educator, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
