About the Role

As a 3rd/4th Grade Math and Science Teacher at Eastex-Jensen Neighborhood School, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages academic excellence, creativity, and personal growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver effective lessons in math and science, utilizing classical traditional methods of instruction to engage and motivate students
  • Assign and correct classwork and homework in a timely manner, providing constructive feedback to students
  • Administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress, record results, and issue reports to parents
  • Provide academic interventions and support to struggling students, working closely with Special Education and 504 teachers to ensure accommodations are implemented
  • Maintain accurate student records, including grades, attendance, and communication with parents via the school's online grading and communication tool
  • Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to stay updated on best practices and industry developments
  • Inspire, praise, and correct students with consistency, care, and interest to encourage academic success and promote virtue
  • Actively participate in marketing and student recruiting activities as necessary, promoting the school and its mission to the wider community

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Texas State Teacher's Certification as Elementary Generalist or Elementary Self-Contained Teacher
  • Bachelor's degree with a passing score on an ExCET/TExES Exam in grade level or content area to be taught
  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education
  • Bachelor's degree with an academic minor or major (minimum of 18 credit hours) in the core academic subject areas to be taught
  • Bachelor's degree and documented successful, relevant work experience in the content area to be taught, established by at least one year of employment in a specific field or occupation that required the educator to demonstrate knowledge or skill in the content area

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Exposure to classical schools or classical education, with experience teaching using classical traditional methods
  • Strong knowledge of math and science curriculum, with the ability to develop and implement engaging lesson plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to learn and implement classical teaching curricula and methods, with a passion for ongoing professional development

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
