About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Elizabeth, NJ. Key Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and social studies, to students of different ages and skill levels
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of diverse learners
• Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure seamless continuity of education
• Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to think on your feet
• Collaborate with other educators to share best practices and improve student outcomes

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
• Three professional references, with at least one from a previous direct supervisor
• A NJ Substitute Credential
• A background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this)
• Full COVID-19 vaccination
• A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Previous teaching experience, particularly in a substitute or support role
• Special education training or experience working with students with diverse needs
• Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices and classroom management strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents
