Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy
- Partner intimately with the Lead Product Manager to create a clear product roadmap of targeted features and initiatives that work toward the overall product vision.
- Monitor game performance and drive KPIs and targets for products and features.
- Implement effective review processes of the state of our games that carefully consider internal and external feedback, as well as key product metrics, to continually improve the product.
- Stay up-to-date on the competitive landscape and maintain a deep understanding of our games.
Product Execution
- Collaborate with production teams to define and deliver features and functionality that support the overall strategic vision of the product.
- Work with design teams to balance and tune virtual economies, conceptualize and execute engaging features, mechanics, systems, and modalities of play that achieve engagement and retention goals.
- Gather requirements, write specifications, and work across design, UX, art, and engineering to launch features and content, and analyze the impact of those deliveries.
- Work closely with marketing and community to ensure they are equipped with the latest information and messaging to effectively take our products to market and manage live services.
Player Understanding
- Define and implement metrics and tracking tools for the product, and use data to inform game design and drive decisions for optimization and future feature development.
- Collaborate with analytics to establish testing guides, utilizing A/B testing to meet objectives and drive product and player understanding. Translate results into actionable recommendations.
- Leverage live operations tools, analytics, A/B testing, and other instruments to enhance player experience and drive business targets.
- Identify potential opportunities to optimize player experience and performance.
Partner Management
- Develop effective relationships across the studio and with external partners to deliver significant business results.
- Lead by example, creating a strong sense of direction and community, and promoting a culture of excellence.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in product management, game systems design, or data analysis in games as a service (mobile, PC, or console).
- Strong experience with quantitative analysis, including the ability to analyze game data using Excel, SQL, and business intelligence tools like Tableau.
- Experience with A/B and multivariate testing.
- Understanding and experience with a wide range of business models, including, but not limited to, free-to-play and subscription-based models.
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree.
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong business and technical skills. You can connect detailed player behavior and financial results.
- Strong analytical skills. You can work with data to quickly gain insights, build succinct reports, and effectively communicate those insights to different audiences.
- Comfort working in an early launch space. You should be eager to work with ambiguity and rapidly changing conditions as your understanding of the space evolves alongside your team.
- Ability to carry out analysis investigations at industry, type, and game level to shape products.
- Ready to handle multiple, competing tasks and be independent in a rapidly evolving environment and meet deadlines with limited guidance.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong desire to iterate and improve processes.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication. Comfortable communicating and presenting to all levels of the organization, particularly key stakeholders, and publishers.
- Self-motivated, collaborative individual ready to work in a team environment with growth and leadership.
