Why You'll Love This Role
As a Remote Customer Service Representative on the Payments and Digital Strategy team at blithequark, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial services. This position is part of the blithequark Credit Union, where you'll be responsible for a range of tasks related to payment processing, member services, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete data entry and balancing functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Coordinate return items with members, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions
- Assist other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and related Accounting standard ledger balancing
- Work on member cases/sports assigned, ensuring timely and effective resolution
- Follow and maintain guidelines and approaches to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines and Federal Banking laws
- Process loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other transactions, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff transactions
- Review, research, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
- Log, research, and make necessary GL, account changes, and/or returns
- Process Stop Pays and Check Batching, ensuring accurate and timely processing
- Complete daily balancing and department closing, maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Obtain information from members for the timely and accurate processing of international and domestic fund transfer requests
- Research and verify incoming and outgoing fund transfer information, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Communicate with vendors to process fund transfers, resolving any issues or discrepancies
- Understand and be familiar with outgoing and incoming fund transfer laws, ensuring compliance and regulatory adherence
Requirements for Success
Minimum Qualifications
- High school degree or GED
- Intermediate Excel and Word experience, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer/member service experience, with a proven track record of delivering excellent service
- Previous banking or Credit Union experience, with knowledge of financial regulations and compliance
- Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems
Skills, Licenses, and Certifications
- Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems
- Ability to work extended hours in support of business needs, demonstrating flexibility and commitment
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and resolve issues
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and functioning as an integral part of a team
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and analyze data, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines under high-volume pressure, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to cross-train and perform any role assigned within the department, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn
- Ability to engage professionally with all personnel and members, providing excellent customer service and support
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and strong work ethics
- Ability to maintain excellent performance and attendance, with a strong commitment to reliability and accountability
