Position Summary:
The Analyst, Life and Health Benefits Plan must provide continuous improvement for all aspects of health and welfare benefits administration in collaboration with management.
Primary responsibilities will entail developing and conducting benefits data analysis for reporting and trend analysis on Health and Welfare plans. All analysis includes work for union as well as non union populations. Ability to comprehend and compile data being requested for unfair labor practice (ULP) and formal grievances.
Ability to analyze, predict trends, and summarize and present conclusions based on the findings and to provide recommendations.
The person holding this role can be located anywhere, but if on the West Coast, must be willing to work a majority of East Coast business hours (i.e. 6 of the 8 hours).
Responsibilities:
• Assist with administering the American Red Cross non-union employee benefit programs & ensure benefit plans are administered according to plan provisions and within the organization’s guidelines.
• Experience with compiling various Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposals (RFP) and assisting with various aspects of implementation of any new benefit offerings and packages.
• Develop and maintain internal requirements document, process flows and procedures for the administration process.
• Administer and monitor employee hours due to federal mandate (Affordable Care Act 30 hour mandate).
• Prepare or revise required regulatory notices such as the Summary Annual Report, Annual Funding Notice, and ensures accurate and timely communication to plan participants.
• Assess and ensure procedures, processing, and vendor requirement documents are up to date and in compliance with government regulations and plan provisions.
• Research and address escalated participant/retiree complaints and appeals and manage outsourced relationships including testing and troubleshooting vendor applications.
• Maintains integrity of plan participant data to ensure retirement plan information is accurate and administered in accordance with plan provisions and government regulations.
• Provide SOC-1 analysis and support for annual plan audits, plan document/summary plan document review and preparation, report generation.
• Provide support for the annual retiree medical program valuation reports. Test data, resolve complex issues and work effectively with both the administrator and the actuary.
• Organization and upkeep of electronic files for department use.
• Responsible for daily demographic and data feeds to/from vendors.
• Other duties as assigned within the Total Rewards department, including special project management.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
• Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of applicable principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Intermediate Excel skills required.
• Travel: travel will be required, approximately 6 times a year.
The salary range for this position is: $50,000 - $60,000
