Job Summary: Pharmacy Technician - Remote Work Opportunity in Idaho
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy team in Boise, ID. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting with the accurate reading, interpretation, and entry of prescriptions into our computer system, including calculating doses, assigning directions, and accepting proper insurance payments in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for contacting doctor's offices and insurance companies to ensure the accuracy of our patients' specialty medication orders. Additionally, you will answer patient calls to coordinate and process new patient medication orders and reorders, which includes verifying and re-verifying benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately read, interpret, and enter prescriptions into the computer system, including calculating doses and assigning directions
- Contact doctor's offices and insurance companies to ensure the accuracy of patients' specialty medication orders
- Answer patient calls to coordinate and process new patient medication orders and reorders, including verifying and re-verifying benefits
- Provide exceptional customer service and patient care, demonstrating compassionate and genuine care for patients and customers
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and detailed records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
Qualifications: Essential and Preferred
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- Active Valid Idaho Pharmacy Technician License (or proof of application prior to starting)
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification required within 1 year of hire
- Six months of experience working in a pharmacy
- Six months of work experience with Windows-Based applications, including Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email applications
- Six months of computer keyboarding skills and aptitude
- Verifiable High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred qualifications include:
- Six months of work experience as a pharmacy technician
- Three months of experience handling and resolving customer needs over the phone
- Healthcare work experience and familiarity with benefits, insurance, and prescriptions
- Medical Billing, Coding, and other Medical assisting roles
- Customer service experience in an office environment
- Six months of professional work experience involving inbound and/or outbound phone customer service
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong knowledge of computer programs
- Excellent data entry skills
