Job Overview and Key Responsibilities

As a Principal Data Operations Engineer at Workwarp, you will play a pivotal role in the implementation of designs and standards set by our Data and Integrations Architect. Your primary focus will be on maintaining and enhancing our data platforms, ensuring they are secure, efficient, and scalable to meet the evolving needs of our organization. Additionally, you will collaborate across departments to establish efficient data and integration service consumption, driving business growth and improvement through data-driven insights.

  • Platform and Application Administration: You will be responsible for the administration, configuration, end-user management, security, patching, and upgrades of our data platforms and applications, ensuring they are always running at optimal levels.
  • Source Code Control and Deployment: Managing source code control, deployment, and release management will be a key part of your role, ensuring that all changes are properly tracked, tested, and implemented.
  • Operational Support: Providing operational support, from bug fixes to major enhancements, will be critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our data systems and integrations.
  • Continuous Improvement and Vendor Management: You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas for automation and efficiency gains, and manage vendor interactions to ensure that our data operations are always aligned with best practices and industry standards.
  • Automation of Manual Processes: Automating manual processes, including code deployment and environment provisioning, will be a key focus area, leveraging your expertise in scripting and automation tools to streamline our data operations.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or in a similar role, with a proven track record of designing, building, implementing, and maintaining data and system integrations.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with dimensional data modeling, ETL pipeline development, and optimization, as well as API lifecycle management platforms and API-led connectivity, is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Expertise in Snowflake, Ipswitch MOVEit, Informatica, and Tableau is highly desirable, as is current MuleSoft certification.
  • Database Technologies: Experience with columnar and relational database technologies (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, and source code management tools (TFS, Git) are preferred.
