This full-time role is based on an anticipated schedule of 40 hours per week, Sunday through Saturday, with flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during normal business hours (5:00 AM - 11:00 PM CST). You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on the communities we serve while advancing health equity on a global scale.
Primary Responsibilities
- Respond to 60-80 incoming calls from customers inquiring about home delivery pharmacy or pharmacy benefits, providing timely and effective solutions to their queries.
- Ask pertinent questions, listen actively, and document required information in our computer systems to ensure seamless issue resolution.
- Occasionally make outbound calls to customers for follow-ups, ensuring that their concerns are addressed and resolved.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) OR 2 years of equivalent work experience.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience, including providing service over the phone.
- Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, with the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to attend 3-4 weeks of paid training with 100% attendance.
- Flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during normal business hours, with occasional overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Call Center experience, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
- Experience with virtual learning environments and virtual working environments.
- Familiarity with digital platforms and systems, including web, chat, and email.
- Experience working in a healthcare or insurance environment, with knowledge of medical terminology, health plan documents, or benefit plan design.
Telecommuting Requirements
As a remote Customer Service Representative, you'll need to meet certain telecommuting requirements to ensure a productive and secure work environment. These include:
- Maintaining the security and confidentiality of company-sensitive documents.
- Establishing a dedicated work area that's separate from other living areas and provides information privacy.
- Having a reliable high-speed internet connection, either through a UnitedHealth Group-approved provider or an existing service.
- Connecting directly to the internet via a hard wire (either directly to a modem or router).

- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling a minimum of 50 calls daily.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
- A customer-centric approach, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and resolving issues efficiently.
Physical and Work Environment
As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be required to:
- Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, and using hands/fingers across a keyboard or mouse.
- Work for long periods at a computer, with the ability to maintain focus and productivity.
Compensation and Benefits

- A competitive hourly rate ($16.00 - $28.27 per hour, depending on location and experience).
