We're seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our Scientific Affairs team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge analytics and data-driven insights.

Job Summary

As a Data Scientist at blithequark, you'll play a critical role in producing high-quality RWE through advanced analytics and innovative processes. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to design and execute statistical analyses, develop data visualizations, and drive business outcomes. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain standardized, analysis-ready patient cohorts from in-house data assets or certified systems, and interpret results to inform business decisions
  • Collaborate with the blithequark Clinical Trial team to provide actionable insights from real-world, clinical, and other data sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests
  • Design, develop, and maintain integrated data lakes for future analysis and broader team consumption
  • Perform data mining and statistical analysis to identify new insights concerning patient populations and treatment outcomes
  • Support the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities, applying advanced analytics and tools to address clinical questions from biopharmaceutical companies
  • Collaborate on the design and execution of outcomes research studies
  • Ensure high-quality, rigorous, and easily interpretable deliverables from RWE research and analyses
  • Build dashboards, analytics, and reports for internal and external consumption
  • Conduct due diligence on new real-world data sources and power RWD quality assessments to inform investment decisions

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in a quantitative or computational field
  • At least 4 years of experience in a quantitative or computational role
  • 4 years of experience in R, Python, or SQL
  • Experience in designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses in the context of epidemiology and observational studies with healthcare data
  • Knowledge of common statistical testing techniques, including generalized linear models, classification and discrimination, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis
  • Experience processing large data from diverse data sources
  • Experience handling protected patient health information
  • Knowledge of at least one business intelligence tool, such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or Spotfire

Preferred Qualifications

To take your application to the next level, consider the following preferred qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. or Master's degree in a field such as statistics/biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, systems engineering, or biomedical engineering
  • Expertise in EMR/Health IT, disease registries, and insurance claims databases
  • Knowledge of clinical data standards, medical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode)
  • Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence research or clinical trials
  • Experience working with alternative data sources and alternative methods of clinical data collection, particularly those enabled by technology platforms and/or solutions
  • Experience with experimental design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, and computational statistics
  • Understanding of machine learning techniques and the ability to maintain self-learning of technical and non-technical skills
