About the Role: Shaping the Future of Owned Brands at Target
As a Director of Brand Management, you will be at the forefront of driving the strategy, growth, and innovation of our owned brands. You'll lead a high-performing team and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to co-create world-class brands that guests love and can only find at Target. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating the competitive landscape, anticipating guest needs, and making data-driven decisions to drive business results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Analysis & Planning: Develop and advance Target's owned brand strategies in partnership with Merchandising leaders to address white space needs and drive long-term growth.
- Business Leadership: Contribute to, monitor, and make decisions on the portfolio P&L, balancing short-term implications with long-run brand equity considerations.
- Brand Building: Lead the guest-centric creation of brand mission, positioning, values, and personality, ensuring cross-functional leader alignment and managing strategic brand extensions.
- Collaboration & Influence: Collaborate with internal and external partners to implement cross-category brand management, steer Brand Roundtables, and drive key decisions.
- Operational Excellence: Bring a solutions-oriented approach to transforming the operational model for Owned Brands, focusing on prioritization, speed, and clarity.
- Motivating & Inspiring Teams: Coach and develop high-performance teams, building diverse, equitable, and inclusive teams that embody Target's culture of "Care, Grow, and Win Together."
About You: The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for a seasoned professional with a passion for brand management, strategic analysis, and team leadership. You should have:
- A four-year degree or equivalent work experience; advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in applicable fields such as Creative Strategy, Brand Strategy, or Consulting.
- A proven track record of developing a vision, inspiring teams, and driving business results.
- Strong analytical skills, experience writing briefs, and a future-focused orientation incorporating trend watching and predictive analytics.
- Experience in "Best in Class" Brand, Retail, and/or Marketing organizations, developing and managing brand strategies.
- Strong business acumen, prioritization skills based on ROI, and experience building high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated leadership in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion actions and behaviors.
- Excellent communication and influence skills across all levels and functions within an organization.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $119,500.00 USD - $215,100.00 USD, depending on factors such as education, work experience, and certifications.
