As a Tax Associate, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer experiences through our state-of-the-art video communications software, Smartlook. As a Tax Associate, you will be an integral part of our team, working remotely with flexible hours to support our customers' tax preparation and advisory needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert tax advice and guidance to customers working on their tax returns or those who have delegated their tax preparation.
• Prepare and sign tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding our tax preparation software and products.
• Perform tax calculations and ensure that customers receive the correct tax credits and deductions.
• Create high-quality customer interactions, utilizing deep customer empathy and your extensive knowledge of tax preparation.
• Utilize government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to deliver accurate and timely solutions to customer inquiries.
• Apply company policies and procedures to troubleshoot and resolve customer tax-related issues.
• Document customer interactions and maintain accurate records.
• Participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations as needed.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you must have:

• A minimum of 3 seasons of paid tax preparation experience, with a minimum of 30 returns per season.
• Prior tax preparation experience in a tax firm or retail setting.
• A valid PTIN or be willing to register for one.
• In-depth knowledge of tax laws, tax concepts, and familiarity with Form 1040 and schedules.
• The ability to work collaboratively within a team to prepare accurate tax returns in a timely manner.
• Strong research skills and the ability to quickly utilize online resources to find answers.
• Comfort with using audio/visual tools to communicate with customers in a professional manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of work-related tax experience.
• A PTIN certification.
• Motivation to expand your expertise and obtain a tax credential or certification, such as an EA license, through our client’s program.

Compensation and Benefits
