About the Role
In this hybrid role, you'll have the flexibility to balance your time between our remote office and home, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive the development and implementation of prefabrication strategies for data center construction. You'll be responsible for managing the design, manufacturing, and installation of prefabricated assemblies, gathering internal requirements, and delivering solutions that satisfy customer needs while maintaining end-to-end responsibility from construction to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the design, manufacturing, and installation of prefabricated assemblies for data center construction in North America, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality products.
- Gather internal requirements and deliver solutions that satisfy customer needs, maintaining end-to-end responsibility from construction to deployment and ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Resolve critical issues within the matrix organization, driving consensus and compromise while engaging with customers, cross-functional partners, and other internal organizations to ensure project timelines and costs are met.
- Work independently on difficult construction challenges, requiring in-depth analysis and evaluation of business situations, and communicate project information and updates to Googlers and leadership appropriately.
- Facilitate the creation of new prefabricated assemblies through electrical and mechanical work packaging, managing electrical and mechanical trades, supply chain vendors, and integrators to ensure successful project outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you'll need a strong and diverse skillset, including:
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience managing multi-group/disciplinary construction projects, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- 2 years of experience in program management, with expertise in managing project schedules, identifying risks, and communicating effectively with project stakeholders.
- Experience creating prefabrication work packages for construction, with a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems and large-scale mission critical facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems or large-scale mission critical facilities, with a deep understanding of the technical challenges and opportunities in these areas.
- Experience with productivity tracking, budget and schedule management, and earned value reporting, with a strong analytical mindset and ability to drive data-driven decision making.
- Experience breaking down electrical and mechanical design into work packages, with expertise in managing electrical and mechanical trades, supply chain vendors, and integrators.
- Experience constructing technical facilities, with a strong understanding of the construction process and the ability to manage complex projects from conception to completion.
