Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, particularly in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospitals. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation, serving, and ensuring that dietary needs are met for our residents. Your attention to detail and commitment to food safety will contribute to the overall well-being of those we serve.

HOURS: 7am-2pm Every other weekend only. 15 hours total.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Maintains Kitchen areas prior to and after meals are served to our Residents. Serving meals to the Residents according to their required diet. Assists our Residents with nourishment, which includes feeding, one-on-one, cueing, or encouraging.

  • Must pass criminal background check from the State of New Hampshire.
  • Must show up at work clean and neatly groomed, following Forestview Manor's ’Dress Code Policy”.
  • 1-10 Minute breaks when time permits, do not punch out and do not leave the property.
  • One-half hour (30 minutes) lunch/dinner break when time permits.
  • Weight Requirements and Physical Requirements:

0 – 10 pounds: Regular daily

11-25 pounds: Occasionally

Reaching: Regular daily

Repetitive: Regular daily

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: All of the following responsibilities are integral to this position and all come with proper education and training.

  • Make sure that everything is done with Resident’s rights, dignity and respect in mind.
  • Perform work in accordance with all Federal, State of NH and Forestview Manor regulations. Includes, but not limited to, following all regulations with regards to proper sanitation and cross contamination techniques to ensure a safe food environment, blood borne pathogens, infection control, use or disposal of hazardous materials and fire and kitchen safety.
  • Follow flow sheet daily, making sure tasks are completed in the time allotted during the shift.
  • Equipment Use: Must be comfortable, after being trained, using the following equipment: Dishwashers/Sanitizers, Steam table and Other standard kitchen equipment.
  • Assist Caregiving staff with bring wheelchair bound Residents to and from the Dining area before and after meals.
  • Plating and serving meals to Residents, as they come out to dine.
  • Feeding one-on-one, cueing and or encouraging our Residents to eat and drink.
  • Pour and serve all drinks: Coffee, hot chocolate, tea, juice, water, etc.
  • Makes sure all dishes, silverware, glasses and cups, pots and pans and cooking utensils are loaded in the dishwasher/sanitizer to be cleaned and stored properly. (On occasion something may not fit in the machine and may have to be hand washed. )
  • These responsibilities are subject to change and other duties may be added and/or amended, at the discretion of the Director of Dining Services.
  • Attend regular meetings: Town Hall (Staff) and Department Team Meetings

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
