Job Summary:
Marathon Energy, a leading provider of energy supply, energy efficiency, and preventative, routine and emergency heating service to residential and commercial properties, is seeking a positive, goal-oriented Fuel Dispatcher for its Woodside, NY office. Our Dispatchers operate in a fast-paced 24/7/365 dispatch office and are an integral part of our organization. Candidate must possess excellent customer service, communication, listening, time-management skills, and be a team player. Additionally, candidate must know how to use Microsoft Word and Excel. POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities and Requirements:
• Manage day-to-day operations of liquid fuel deliveries in the NYC Metro area
• Dispatch Fuel Trucks via email and/or phone at a high volume
• Calculate, track, forecast and maintain automatic oil delivery customers
• Prepare daily delivery schedules and routes
• Field incoming calls/customer inquiries from current customers and prospects
• Communicate with drivers, supervisors, trucking subcontractors and customers to resolve problems
• Process daily delivery paperwork and delivery data
• Review of exception reports, and the subsequent modification of customer information
• Track, order, and maintain the company's fuel monitors
• Track and maintain the company's fuel inventory across fleet of trucks and trucking subcontractors
• Provide steady feedback on delivery process improvement and efficiency
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure deliveries are made in a timely, accurate fashion
• Relay information such as work orders or messages to and from drivers, vendors, customers, or customer representatives
• Update customer database with current information as required
• Use telephones, emails, or text messages to contact employees and customers
• Perform customer service responsibilities to maintain superior level of customer satisfaction
• Assists with coordinating vehicle maintenance
• Manage productivity of fuel delivery employees
• Cross-train and help with overload work and responsibilities of Service Dispatcher, when necessary
• Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
Required Skills & Personal Attributes:
• Must be able to work in Marathon's Woodside Queens office
• Bachelors degree required
• Two years related experience and/or training in customer service, dispatching or project management or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Microsoft Office
• Computer skills necessary for working our custom computerized dispatch software
• Flexible work schedule, including 6 or 7 days a week, or extended hours, during the winter season
• Must have minimal knowledge of multi-family heating systems, boilers, heating oil and natural gas
• Geographical knowledge of NYC service area and map reading skills
• Strong math skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rate, ratio, and percent
• Excellent, clear and concise customer service skills
• Superior communications skills with department managers, employees and vendors
• Be knowledgeable and provide a warm personality that shows over the phone
• Able to adapt to frequent changes, delays, demands or unexpected events while yielding an effective outcome
• Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment - must be flexible and able to multi-task
• Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and organized
• Possess a positive, can-do attitude
• MUST be team player
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Prior dispatch experience not required, will train qualified applicants
• Prior dispatching and customer service experience a plus
• Full vaccination for COVID-19, as this job is in-person only

Training will be held 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, for approximately 3 weeks
