Kents Hill School is hiring a Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding Coach for the 2025-2026 winter season.
Kents Hill School, located in Kents Hill, Maine, has been a cornerstone of education and community for over 200 years. Nestled on our historic campus is the O’Connor Alpine Training Center, a privately owned snow sports facility designed to inspire skiers and riders of all levels. The center features a 3-phase powered rope tow that provides quick turnaround runs, maximizing time on the slope for skill development and progression. Our versatile terrain offers endless opportunities for athletes to refine their abilities in a supportive and challenging environment. The terrain park serves as a creative playground—a true blank canvas where we use our PistenBully Park Pro 400 to shape custom features throughout the season. This allows both students and the broader community to enjoy a dynamic and evolving snow sports experience throughout the entire winter season.
Required Experience

  • Prior coaching experience with beginner to advanced level riders and skiers with terrain park instruction.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering athlete development and personal growth, with a coaching philosophy that emphasizes progress and learning over a purely results-driven approach.
  • Proven ability to create a positive and inclusive team culture by developing and articulating clear expectations and guidelines to skiers/riders and parents.
  • Ability to assist Alpine Center staff in the design and construction of on-snow features.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, in-state, to attend USASA-sanctioned and/or MAISAD/NEPSAC events with athletes.
  • CPR/AED certification (on-site certification potential)
  • Clean Driving record
Preferred Experience
  • Level 100 or higher USASA or USSS coaching certification, in progress, or ability to obtain
  • At least 21 years old
The stipend for this position is $3,000. This is a seasonal position starting on November 9, 2025, with an anticipated end date of March 8, 2026, or the end of the 2025-26 winter sports season. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 2-5 p.m., with intermittent weekend days.
Interested candidates should send their letter of interest and resume to [email protected].
